OVERVIEW
Volunteering with XRACE is a great opportunity to fundraise for a good cause and be a part of a fun day at the same time. We produce races in many different parts of the country so there are multiple opportunities in all areas to sign up your group and make money for your community cause. Many volunteer groups join us annually or for several races a year as repeat groups since they enjoy the experience so much.

VENUES, DATES AND TIMES
Please visit our 2018 locations to find out details regarding our venues, dates and times. Note the event(s) that you would like to assist with, then contact us to express your interest.

GROUP SIZE
We require 15 volunteers from any one group. If you have issues organising 15 volunteers, please let us know in advance - we do work with smaller groups or motivated individuals on occasion.

HOW MUCH
We pay $500 per group per event.

AGES
All volunteers must be 14 years or older. The group can be made up of a mix of adults and teenagers, but there must be at least 6 adult volunteers per group of 15 people.

ABILITIES
All volunteers must be able to work independently, engage the competitors, look for work and help make everything run smoothly.

There can be up to a kilometre of walking to a volunteer's location along course. Volunteers are to wear comfortable shoes, bring a bottle of water and dress for the weather (sunscreen, rain coat etc.).

TIME COMMITMENT
In order to have the course and all challenge points ready to go for competitors, volunteer groups arrive at staggered times 1-2 hours prior to the start of a race so that staff can train and take volunteers out to their points along course. Once competitors begin to start, an XRACE takes around two hours including prize giving. Following this, volunteer groups help pack up the equipment.

So, if the event starts at 2 P.M., volunteer groups are asked to be ready to go 12:30P.M. and are off duty again at 4 P.M(*This is an example - your volunteer group will be given event specific instructions when signing up.)

WHEN THE EVENT “GOES LIVE”
When an event begins, some volunteers will start to see competitors immediately. For others further down the course, there could be a 20 to 30 minute wait before the XRACE competitors arrive. Regardless where the challenges are; we require all volunteers at their challenge points ready to go by the event start time.

POST EVENT
At the conclusion of the event, all volunteers must stay on-site until everything is packed away into the event truck and the site is completely cleared. Working with staff, a focused volunteer crew can have the whole event packed away in under sixty minutes.

SIGN OUT
Once the event has been packed away and the truck door is closed, each volunteer is required to sign out from a roster for our record keeping.
